Safety First at Vintage at Folsom: PWD Crews Complete Fall Arrest System Training

May 7, 2026 — Folsom, CA

At Pro-Wide Drywall, safety isn't a checkbox — it's a core value we invest in on every jobsite. On May 7, our crews at the Vintage at Folsom project completed a hands-on Fall Protection Plan training, conducted by Safewaze in partnership with Pro-Wide Drywall and Southern Carlson.

Why Fall Protection Matters

Falls remain a leading cause of fatalities in the construction industry, and wood framing presents some of the highest-risk scenarios on any project. That's why this training focused specifically on fall prevention during framing operations, reinforcing the practices that keep our team members safe when working at height.

What the Training Covered

The course addressed the situations where falls most commonly occur in wood framing:

  • Wall installation

  • Roof trusses, rafters, and sheathing

  • Work near open edges, openings, and floor joists

  • Stairs and scaffolding use

Crews also reviewed OSHA requirements, which mandate fall protection — harnesses, lifelines, guardrails, or properly erected scaffolding — for any work performed at heights of six feet or more.

Building Safe Habits, Every Day

Beyond regulations, the training emphasized the daily routines that prevent incidents before they happen:

  • Before starting work: Inspect all equipment, including harnesses, lanyards, and anchor points, and identify potential hazards in a clean, organized work area.

  • During work: Maintain 100% tie-off, use secure access points, and never work from unstable surfaces.

  • Never: Use damaged equipment, improvise anchor points, or remove protective covers from openings.

Just as important, every PWD team member was reminded of their personal responsibility to follow safety rules, report hazards immediately, and stop any work that cannot be performed safely.

Our Commitment

As the trainers put it: no work is so urgent that it cannot be done safely. Working safely protects not just our employees, but their families and their teammates.

This training is part of Pro-Wide Drywall's ongoing safety program, led by our safety team, which delivers regular jobsite training across all of our active projects. It reflects our commitment to sending every member of our team home safe, every single day.
